   How To See A Doctor

The main surgery opening hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am – 6:30pm.

The Surgery is also open until 8:15pm one evening each week and Saturday mornings from 9:00 – 11:00am.  These additional hours are specifically for routine appointments for those patients who are unable to attend the surgery during the normal opening hours, eg as a result of work commitments.  Please do not use these appointments if you are able to attend during normal surgery hours.

Patients can see a Doctor by appointment only.

There are three ways to make an appointment:
•    in person at reception;
•    by telephoning 0844 815 1030;
•    on the internet (please ask at reception for more details)

Approximately half of our doctors’ appointments are available to book up to one month in advance for routine problems.  The remaining appointments are released on the day at 8:30am for medical problems which need to be dealt with at short notice.

You are advised to ring/call in as close to 8:30am as possible as the appointments tend to get booked up quite early.  Please be aware that if you request a specific doctor there may be less chance of an appointment being available, however, we will usually be able to offer an appointment with one of our doctors.

Drs Allen, Mannion and Longstaff work part time and so are not available every day of the week.  Please be aware that if you specifically wish to see any of these doctors you may have to wait a little longer, dependent on their work pattern.

Dr Mannion currently works Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  Dr Allen works Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Dr Longstaff works Tuesday, Wednesday (morning only) and Friday.  At times Dr Longstaff also works additional days to cover for holidays/study leave of the other doctors.

Please note that medically urgent cases will always be seen on the same day.

If a doctor asks to see you again for a further review, you are advised to make this appointment as soon as possible.  Please do not leave it until the last minute to try to book an appointment, as there may not be any pre-bookable appointments left.
