The reception team are your first point of contact and they are here to help you. They do however have the difficult job of trying to keep both the doctors and the patients happy and have to work within the constraints of the practice rules and policies. They will ask you questions about your reasons for wishing to see the doctor/nurse to help us give you the best care and advice. We would ask you to please be patient and co-operate as fully as possible.

'Hello, I am a practice pharmacist working for Hambleon South PCN. I provide support to the practice staff with regards to medication and prescription queries or concerns. I also provide clinical medication reviews to manage patients with single or multiple problems and complex polypharmacy and assist them to get the best out of their medicines. Furthermore, I can provide patients with advice on common and minor ailments. My role also includes, medicines reconciliation during transfer of care and working with other healthcare professionals to ensure consistency of patient care and benefit. Gemma'
Antenatal clinics are held in the surgery on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, by appointment only. For details of the evening classes for expectant parents run by the midwives, please ask your midwife or telephone the Friarage Hospital on (01609) 779911.
The District Nursing Team
A team of district nurses provides home nursing care where necessary and maintain a constant liaison with the doctors. They can be contacted on (01845) 591738
James is employed as a Physiotherapist by Hambleton South PCN and works Thursdays and Fridays at Thirsk Doctors Surgery.
His role is of first contact physio, to free up GP time. James has daily catch ups with the GP to discuss patients and any need for change of medication / sick notes.
Deputy Dispensary Manager
Sara has transferred from Reception to Dispensary. She is currently undertaking Dispensing training and will be carrying out work in the Dispensary supervised.
Ellie is employed as our Dispensary Apprentice and carries out Dispensary tasks supervised.
